If you are not aware of what the Dual Messenger feature is and own a Galaxy S9 then it is about time that you learn about it. Dual Messenger gives users access to a great utility that you may not have even realized that you need.
What is Dual Messenger?
Dual Messenger is an app that is only available on newer Samsung smartphones. It essentially allows you to duplicate another app by making a copy of it. This allows you to use the same app across multiple accounts.
To use an example we’ll take Facebook. Many people have two or more Facebook profiles for various reasons. One could be their personal account and the other could be related to a business such as a restaurant or an official page for a band. Logging in and out of these two accounts can be frustrating. Dual Messenger gets rid of this issue entirely so that you can have two Facebook apps, each one corresponding to its own individual account.
Constantly logging in and out between the two profiles becomes a thing of the past. All you need to do is just tap on the right Facebook icon and you’ll be in the profile of your choice. Dual Messenger is truly a life saver to people in this situation.
How to Activate Dual Messenger
Luckily for Samsung Galaxy S9 owners the Dual Messenger app is already installed – it only has to be activated.
To find Dual Messenger, you must first go to your Settings menu. In the following list pick Advanced Features, then scroll down until you see the option that says Dual Messenger. Now you’ll see a list of all the apps you have installed. Tap on the ones that you wish to make a copy of and now the duplicates will be available in your home menu or Apps menu, depending on where you have them located.
Dual Messenger Device and App Compatibility
Currently, the Dual Messenger app is compatible with a wide array of Samsung smartphones. It’s not just available for use on the Galaxy S9 but can also work with the S7 and S7 Edge, the S8 and S8 Plus, the Note 8 and Note 9, the S9 Plus and the new series of Galaxy 10 devices. This includes the Galaxy Note 10, the Note 10 Plus, the S10 and the S10 Plus and even the S10e.
There is no definitive list of all of the apps that Dual Messenger can create a copy of, but the apps we know for certain that are compatible are Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Skype, Viber, Telegram, Snapchat and WhatsApp.
