Fans of the Netflix series Suburra Blood on Rome will be delighted to hear that the second series has been given a 22nd February release date.

Series 2 of Suburra Blood on Rome began filming back in April 2018. Shooting was completed in August, leaving fans speculating over when exactly it would be released.

Netflix recently announced that the series would be included in its February program.

With less than a month until its release, here is what we know so far about season 2:

How Many Episodes?

Season 1 of this popular Netflix original Italian crime series featured 10 episodes. Series 2 is expected to only have 8.

Suburra Blood on Rome Series 2: Cast And Crew

Returning in their leading roles will be Alessandro Borghi, Giacomo Ferrara, and Eduardo Valdarnini.

Likewise, series creators Daniele Cesarano and Barbara Petronio (head writer of series one) are back on board, something which guarantees that series 2 will be as good as, if not better, than the first.

There has been one notable change to the crew, however, while director Andrea Molaioli has returned, director Michele Placido, was absent from filming series 2. Placido was behind the camera for the two episodes of Season 1. He has been replaced by Piero Messina.

We will have to wait to see whether this change has any effect.

Available Languages

Like the first, the second series will also take place in Rome and will be in Italian.

Netflix has confirmed that, as with the original series, English subtitles will be available for those who wish to watch the film in its original language. For those that don’t, dubs will be available in English, French, Polish, and Portuguese.

All episodes of series 2 will be available in full 4k

Alessandro Borghi will return as mob boss Aureliano. Giacomo Ferrara is back as Alberto “Spadino” Anacleti, a gang member, and Eduardo Valdarnini will reprise his role as Gabriele “Lele” Marchilli, a low-level drug pusher.

Suburra Blood on Rome was adapted from the novel Suburra. It follows a mob gang that gets into a battle over who will control the Italian seaside town of Ostia. The series is the Italian version of The Sopranos and is a graphic account into life inside the Italian Mafia.

All episodes of Suburra Blood on Rome Season 2 will be released simultaneously on February 22nd, 2018.
